About John Francis Oswego

1421197484_CaptureJohn Francis is a dedicated educator in Oswego, Illinois. He holds a bachelor of science in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in education administration from Concordia University. Throughout his career, which has spanned more than a decade, he has completed several continuing development courses and training, including non-violent crisis prevention intervention training and the Danielson Framework for Teaching training course. He is currently seeking special education training to build his knowledge about special education laws and practices. Professionally, John Francis is an assistant principal at Long Beach Elementary within School District 308. Since accepting the role in 2011, he developed teacher leadership as a vehicle for change and improvement within the school and became the site coordinator for Blessings in a Backpack.

In his free time, Mr. Francis enjoys traveling, and he goes on annual baseball trips with his family. Together with his father, he has visited more than 40 Major League Baseball stadiums and he even wrote a book about the experience. An active member of the community, he supports the Cystic Fibrosis Walk and coordinates schedules for the Big Brother Big Sister program at his school.
